I had my first Bakersfield wedding photography shoot ever on Oct. 25 when I photographed Tracy and Abel’s wedding at the San Clemente Mission Parish Catholic Church and followed it up with a reception at the Bakersfield Women’s Club. I knew it was going to be a great time after shooting their engagement photos – also in Bakersfield – about a month ago. I used to work with Tracy and she is just such a great woman, mother and now bride. I loved being able to be a part of hers and Abel’s day. My favorite part of the day was having time to walk around downtown Bakersfield to make photographs of the happy couple around many of the landmarks there. We even made time to grab a beer in the local hot spot – Guthrie’s Alley Cat.
Tracy and Abel were so generous, they even asked if my wife could come down and join in on the celebration – which she did. It turned into a big party – a fun one that I got to document. There was even a sign letting folks know that the bar was open, but there would be a photographer on hand to document any shenanigans. I don’t think things got too out of hand though. I think you can tell from a few select photos below that guests and the guests of honor, had a great time.
