My wedding photography is unique in that I am committed to making collections of timeless and spontaneous photographs captured unrehearsed and in the moment.
In a career of making photographs that reveal the essence of a story, my ninja-like skills are a natural fit for telling a perfect wedding story through pictures. The images I make from your wedding will serve as a storybook of memories that will be relived and shared for generations to come.
With the exception of formal and stylized portraits, I follow the events of the day as they unfolds naturally, capturing real moments that tell real stories. I avoid excessive posing or staging moments but rather makes photographs as a photojournalist. There may be special moments that happen in your wedding that need to be shared. You can count on me to be ready for them.
In covering weddings, I generally start early as the bride gets ready for the big day. As the wedding party gets to the ceremony site the anticipation begins to grow and the excitement begins to show on their faces. This is a great time to capture bridal portraits as well as group shots of the bride and bridesmaids – pictures that can be used as gifts and fond remembrances.
It’s also a chance to photograph the groom and his groomsmen as they show up. It’s fun to see their anticipation too and the special camaraderie that goes with being good friends.
Then as the ceremony begins to start, I put myself in the best position to capture everyone as they come out in the procession. Grandmas and grandpas, moms and dads, are all there dressed for the occasion in a family event that may likely be one-of-a-kind. At the grand entrance of the bride, everyone stands and I like to capture it a panoramic moment as well as the first sight of the groom seeing his bride. The ceremony ends with that first kiss which I will never miss and then the following the recessional displaying nothing but smiles all around.
At this time the formal family portraits are made with all the main family members in a process that goes surprisingly quick. Then it’s off to the reception.
The reception is the big party filled with great moments not to be missed. I cover the event with two cameras and lighting to accentuate the feeling of good times and family. I am careful to capture the introductions, first dances, toasts, cake cutting, bouquet and garter tosses and dancing into the night.
The end of the night is a great time to get a sunset portrait or reflective moment between the bride and groom to wrap up a great day and the beginning of a life of one together.
